100 Rows! - it's 10 inches long, and 17-18 inces wide... which makes me thing that although the pattern calls for 400 rows, I'm going to need at least 500. (sigh) at least I'm 1/5 of the way done!

Wow, that's looking gorgeous! I wouldn't worry about the stitches, I think it's fine the way it is. At this rate, you'll be done in plenty of time.
